First call for teams with mud on their boots
If your group is entering from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban or Bloemfontein, we help sort the practical side before race day. That includes corporate entry planning, team registration help and captain communication so the right details reach the right people. For company groups, running clubs and mixed-ability teams, it keeps the admin in one place and cuts down on last-minute confusion.
- Corporate entry planning for larger groups
- Team registration help for captains and organisers
- Supporter planning for people travelling with the crew
- Custom team briefing for a clear race plan
Waivers, briefings and the bits people forget
Obstacle course races need a clear safety process, and that starts before the first warmup. We handle waiver coordination, safety briefing groups and onsite team check-in so participants know the rules, the route flow and what the marshals will expect. If you have a corporate team or a family group, this makes the start less rushed, especially when everyone arrives at different times.
We also ask participants to check with a doctor before hard exercise if they are unsure about their fitness or recent health. That is just sound planning before any endurance challenge, particularly if the training has been light or inconsistent.
What to pack for a clean run in the North West
The Magaliesberg weather can change quickly, and a dry morning can turn dusty or hot by midday. Bring kit that handles sweat, dirt and a bit of scraping against course features. If you are travelling from the coast, remember the inland air is drier, and if you are coming in summer, hydration matters more than people think, hey.
- Trail shoes or trainers with grip
- Extra socks and a towel
- Water bottle or hydration pack
- Dry clothes for after the race
- Sunblock and a cap for spectators too
Training help before you face the obstacles
Some people arrive ready for rope climbs and sand carries, others are testing themselves for the first time. Our training content coordinator shares practical preparation notes for stamina, grip strength, pacing and recovery between efforts. The aim is not to overcomplicate it, only to help you arrive with a body that knows what a long effort feels like.
Group warmup sessions can be arranged onsite, which helps settle nerves and gets the team moving together before the start. It also gives captains a chance to confirm who is in each heat and who needs a gentler pace.
On the ground at Hekpoort and nearby venues
Our base is in Hekpoort, with support across the Magaliesburg area and access routes used by visitors from Hartbeespoort, Krugersdorp, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Rustenburg and Potchefstroom. If you are arriving late or travelling in convoy, the team can help with heat allocation support and practical check-in guidance so everyone gets where they need to be.
- Heat allocation support for mixed fitness levels
- Recovery area guidance after the course
- Team photo moments once the finish line is behind you
- Supporter planning for family, staff and cheer squads
Who you will deal with on the day
The support team is led by people who know how race days move. Lerato Zondo handles operations, Johan du Plessis looks after course build work, Ayanda Nxumalo assists with participant support, Bianca Khoza manages safety and briefings, Tshepo Khumalo prepares training content, and Carmen Botha supports corporate entries. Mandla van der Merwe oversees the business from Hekpoort.
When the lines are busy and the boots are muddy, having named people for each task keeps things orderly. It also means questions get answered by the right person, not passed around in circles.
